Join our 6-week Online Space Course, designed for curious and ambitious learners aged 13–21+, brought to you by Space Store.

Led by NASA-trained engineers and space scientists, this online course covers everything from the Big Bang to satellites and global navigation systems to Astrobiology, blending science, history, and technology into an unforgettable learning experience.

Whether you’re a science enthusiast, a creative thinker, or simply captivated by the cosmos, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how the universe works — and where you might fit within it. You’ll explore real-world applications of space technology, develop critical academic skills, and unlock pathways into future careers in science, engineering, media, design, and more.

Curriculum Schedule

The course will be conducted in ‘chronological order’. We will start with the origins of the universe and move through time to the creation of our solar system, to the development of human technology to enable space exploration.

What you will learn?

  • Students will be able to identify different Earth-based applications using data collected from spacecraft orbiting the Earth in particular Global Positioning and Navigation Systems, Earth Observation and Communications.
  • Students will be able to explain the different technical systems required to collect space data, including satellites, launch vehicles, and ground stations. Students will learn about the subsystems of each technical system.
  • Students will be able to describe the ‘History of Space’ from the Origins of the Universe to current exploration of space by humankind. Topics will include the Big Bang, Astrobiology, Universe, Galaxies, Celestial Bodies, Solar System, Planets, Launch Vehicles, Satellites, Subsystems and Applications.
  • Transferable Skills: Students will have gained knowledge in the plethora of careers available in the space industry ranging from histor, media, design through to science, technology and maths.
  • Further transferrable skills: Students will have the opportunity to improve their English communication and written skills over this 6-week period through weekly sessions, discussions, self-research and essay writing as their final assessment.

Requirements for learners:

  • General knowledge from experience as a student, or self-taught due to keen interest in Space gained from books, movies, games or other publicly available materials. 
  • The course has a total study time of 9 hours with 1.5 hours per week. Classes will take place on Mondays online via video conference. A 30-60 minute homework assignments will be expected to be completed each week between course sessions.

Meet the Instructors

Stephen Ringler

ENGINEER

Stephen has over 20 years of experience in the space sector, working as a Pointing Precision Engineer, Programmatic Analyst, and Business & Economic Developer.

His career includes developing concept missions for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and supporting the Ultraviolet Spectrograph Instrument aboard NASA’s Juno mission. Stephen has also successfully captured over £1 million in contracts and investment for organisations he has supported.

He is the Founder and CEO of Space Store, an innovative space start-up dedicated to delivering inspiring, hands-on space experiences to schools, students, and businesses, helping to connect education, industry, and the future of the global space economy.

Lakshya Sethi

ENGINEER

Lakshya Sethi is an aerospace engineer, project manager, and science educator with over 6 years of experience in space and STEM education. He is Head of Operations at Space Store, leading UK and internationally funded space projects, and holds a First-Class degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Lakshya has taught hundreds of students through online courses, international summer schools at Cambridge and Oxford University, and is the founder of SNL Tutoring, an education company based in London.

His teaching blends strong theory with real-world space applications, hands-on problem solving, and industry insight, inspiring students to pursue future careers in space and engineering.

Gauri Verma

Astrophysicist

Gauri Verma is an Astrophysicist and a Computer Science Engineer with a strong passion for space science and science communication. She has worked with academic institutions such as the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick and brings experience in education, outreach, and public engagement.

Gauri is committed to advocating for inclusive access to space education and inspiring diverse audiences worldwide. Her work focuses on making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for learners at all levels.

In this course, she will take you through the wonders of Astrophysics, it’s applications and why the Universe works the way we see it.

Special Guest Lecturer

Alyssa Carson

SCIENTIST

Alyssa Carson, also known by the call sign Blueberry, is an astrobiologist and science communicator. She holds a B.S. in Astrobiology from the Florida Institute of Technology and is currently a PhD candidate in Space and Planetary Science at the University of Arkansas.

Her research focuses on the potential for past life on Mars, with particular emphasis on methanogens. Alyssa’s interest in space began at the age of three and led her to complete NASA’s passport program by visiting all 14 NASA Visitor Centers. At 15, she enrolled in Possum Academy through the International Institute of Astronautical Sciences, earning an Applied Astronautics Certification.

Alongside her research, Alyssa is passionate about science communication and aims to inspire students to explore the wide range of career opportunities within the space industry.
