Description
Voyager 2 was tasked with studying the outer planets of the Solar System, specifically Neptune. It is one of only five spacecraft to achieve escape velocity, which allowed it to leave our Solar System – becoming only the 2nd spacecraft to reach interstellar space. It was launched in 1977 and is still operational today, remaining in contact via the NASA Deep Space Network. Neptune Voyager is a part of our planetary collection.
