NWA XXX are a set of stony meteorites, belonging to group of common chondrites. The XXX part of the name indicates that these have not yet been fully classified through chemical, structural and isotopic analysis. Our samples, found across the Saharan Desert around 10 years ago, mostly by travelling nomads, are rare fragments of the meteorites that were once part of the crust of a planet or larger asteroid – formed around 4.5 billion years ago!

Chondrites are composed of tiny, spherical grain-like chondrules made from silicate, which can be seen with any magnifying glass, and sometimes even with the naked eye! Scientific analysis has shown that chondrites are one of the very first elements from which a planet is born.

Comes in a small plastic casing with foam to protect each fragment. As well as a Specimen Identification Card for you to display at home. Perfect as a gift!
