Legends

You might observe 3 constellations in Mora’s hairline:

  • Grus – The Crane – on the top of the head – In many cultures all over the world, not only in India, Crane is a bird as the eternal symbol of unconditional love and devotion and good fortune.

  • Pavo – The Peacock – next to the ear – The Peacock feather with their eyes and color range has been a symbol of grace and beauty for centuries, especially in Indian and South-east Asian culture. Peacock feathers adorn clothing and jewelry as well as houses and shrines. In many cultures around the world, the peacock is a symbol of power. Kings and other members of royalty wore them as symbols of strength.

  • Indus – The Indian – at the bottom of the hair do – It is supposed to represent a man holding arrows in his hand. It was not created in recognition of India but of Native American Indians. The Gamma Ray-Burst in this constellation (GRB 060614) is speculated to be a white hole.

All the three constellations were introduced in 16th century while navigating to East India. The trip was led by the Dutch astronomer and explorer Petrus Plancius. The astronomers divided the southern sky into 12 constellations and decided to break with the convention of naming them after myths. Instead, they named them according to resemblance to the beautiful items they had seen during their travels.

SATURN

In Hindu astrology Saturn holds a special position. It is considered a cruel planet but it is often called the God of Justice. It reminds us that ones actions determine ones direction and results.
